Bookapalooza program

Shipping and handling charges for shipment of the Bookapalooza collection are the responsibility of the libraries selected. For the purpose of estimating shipping costs, winning collections are anticipated to weigh as much as pounds and include as many as 60 cartons.

Applications and supporting materials will be due by February 1, Please do not fill out and submit the application until you have all the necessary materials to complete your application.

This is an opportunity for students to celebrate books as a community. Students will have opportunities to meet community members with common interests, plan their own conference experience, and develop new literacy skills and interests. Bookapalooza is a place where students can have fun AND connect with each other to share their love of comics, books, manga, anime, and writing. We plan on having sessions presented by students, teachers, authors, artists, and voice actors to help everyone have a great experience. Possible sessions include:. You are at: ALA.

Eligibility The Award is restricted to author s and illustrator s who are citizens or residents of the United States.

Reprints and compilations are not eligible. The award winning author and illustrator each prepare and deliver an acceptance speech. Honorees, if any, accept a plaque, but does not deliver a speech. The Bookapalooza collection will allow the Jaffrey Public Library to provide current and appealing materials to local youth both housed in the library and in outreach locations throughout the Monadnock region, of which Jaffrey is the center.

The Lawrence County Public Library plans to distribute the Bookapalooza materials among nine Lawrence County public schools since the 5, students in their communities have greater access to their school libraries. The Bookapalooza program will be a way to help the schools improve their collections and promote a love of reading to these students.
