Will vista key work with windows 7

If you bought it from Dell, I'd check the key yourself and see. It should say Win 7 or Vista on it. Plus it would have Windows stickers on it. Check the COA on the back of the machine. Edit: Dell did a 'free windows 7 upgrade' when windows 7 was just coming out.

If you bought a computer with Windows vista on it, you could register for a free update disc to 7 that had the COA on the disc sleeve itself. Do you think you might have done that?
